I designed a high-energy and discipline-focused digital home for Choi Martial Arts Academy using WordPress and the Enfold theme. For a premier martial arts school, the website needed to act as more than just an information page; it had to be a primary tool for community growth and lead generation. I focused on a “dynamic-tradition” aesthetic, utilizing high-action photography of students and instructors to immediately convey the power, focus, and respect taught within their dojang.

This project is a key example of the local service and membership-based platforms I specialize in; in fact, this is 1 of many sites like this I build and manage for martial arts academies and fitness centers that require high-conversion landing pages and streamlined class schedules. The Challenge

Martial arts schools often struggle to translate the physical energy of the mats into a digital format that doesn’t feel cluttered. The challenge for Choi Martial Arts was to balance the deep tradition of their lineage with the “instant-info” expectations of modern parents. We had to solve the puzzle of making specialized programs—like Taekwondo for kids and adult self-defense—feel distinct yet part of a cohesive brand, ensuring the path from browsing to a first class was as short as possible.

The Strategy

The design strategy focused on “Action & Invitation.” We prioritized a layout that uses bold imagery and clean typography to highlight the benefits of training: focus, confidence, and fitness. By creating distinct pathways for “Kids,” “Adults,” and “Summer Camps,” we created an intuitive roadmap for different demographics. The visual strategy relied on high-contrast action shots and video headers to build immediate excitement and trust with prospective families.

Program-Siloed Navigation: Dedicated sections for different martial arts programs to maximize user relevance and local SEO.
“Getting Started” Conversion Triggers: Strategic placement of trial offers and lead-capture forms designed to drive new student inquiries.
Integrated Class Calendars: A clear, mobile-friendly schedule layout to ensure current members and prospects can find class times effortlessly.
Responsive “Family-First” UI: A clean-cut design built on the Enfold theme that maintains a polished, authoritative look across all mobile and desktop devices.
