Delta Kappa Alpha Archives

WordPress Design, Digital Preservation Architecture, and Cinematic Heritage Strategy.

I designed a sophisticated and historically significant digital repository for the Delta Kappa Alpha (DKA) Archives using WordPress and the Enfold theme. As the national professional cinematic arts fraternity, DKA’s history is intertwined with the evolution of film, and the website needed to function as a living digital museum rather than just a static archive. I focused on a “Classic Cinema” aesthetic, utilizing rich textures and archival imagery that honors the fraternity’s founding in 1936 while providing modern accessibility to its deep cinematic legacy.

This project represents a core facet of my development work, as this is 1 of many sites like this I build and manage for national organizations requiring high-security content organization and long-term digital stability. I engineered a robust architecture to house decades of historical records, national convention documents, and cinematic artifacts into a clear, searchable data hub. By prioritizing a high-performance, mobile-responsive design, I ensured that students, alumni, and film historians can explore the DKA heritage seamlessly across all devices, establishing a definitive and well-maintained source for their professional history.

“In the cinematic arts, every frame of history matters. I focused on a design that reflects the heritage and professional standards of Delta Kappa Alpha, ensuring that from the first click, every member and historian feels the weight and significance of the legacy being preserved.” — Doug Walker
